So… I haven’t written in a bit, even after I made two declarations about posting every day for a month, which ended up being such a daunting task I could barely handle it and it all got left in the dust. Not that I’m proud of it.
Some big decisions got made, other stuff happened and I’m here to tell you that’s when #YogaZoo was created.
You may have seen one or two yoga challenges on Instagram. I’ve probably seen, like, 1,000 of them, and most of them had super tricky poses that did nothing but annoy me. I figured I had two choices: magically strengthen my practice overnight, or get my friends to offer a challenge with me that was all about fun and frolic.
It’s the wild child of all challenges, a bohemian revolution of love and poses all named after animals—Bhujanghasana (Cobra), Ahdo Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog), Bakasana (Crow)… Oh hey, maybe a chart would help? We’re not gonna be all weird and cryptic about it. We just want you to have fun with us! My friend Natalie breaks it all down:
Fierce it up. Unleash the hounds, and try to drop any fears, insecurites or maybe that I’m-too-cool-and-I’ll-look-stupid-and-fat. WE DON’T CARE. We’re all in this together, kitty cat.

By the way, we’re unofficially calling October “Do Something that Scares You” month. Now’s your chance! (And pssst… if you are reading this, you’ll get info on the down low, little hints and motivational stuff that the other peeps won’t get.) See ya’ll October 1st!
