Still More 100 Party Songs

It would be weird to stop at 30 top 100 party songs. I’m just going to keep going.

40. “Rapper’s Delight” by The Sugarhill Gang (1979). Yessss, it’s. About. Time. Insanely love it. You know it’s par-tay time whenever you hear this one, baby.

39. “Shake It Off’” by Taylor Swift (2014). Admit it. You like it. It’s happy. Ya gotta love it, especially if you’re the big guy who taped himself mouthing the words in his car with that app. That’s kinda what made me dig it.

38. “Toxic” by Britney Spears (2003). It’s catchy. It doesn’t suck, even if I can’t help but think of how bat shit crazy this poor girl used to be.

37. “212” by Azealia Banks (2014). Never heard it before. Can’t say I’m bummed about that.

36. “This Charming Man” by The Smiths (1984). I’m shocked this is on the list. It’s kind of obscure and it rules and I was, in fact, just listening to it this morning, because apparently I like to live as if it’s still 1984.

35. “SexyBack” by Justin Timberlake (2006). I secretly love Justin Timberlake, ever since I saw him perform once on Saturday Night Live. The guy can dance.

34. “Common People” by Pulp (1995). Never heard it and you can’t dance to it. No.

33. “Modern Love” by David Bowie (1983). It doesn’t get better. (Except “Let’s Dance.” See #8.)

32. “Pump Up the Jam” by Technotronic (1989). Please, god, make it stop.

31. “Born Slippy (Nuxx)” by Underworld (1996). Reminds me of working skeevy after-hours clubs in the 90’s. Never wanna hear it again.

Next Post: 50-41. And that’s it until I can’t think again about what to write.

The 100 best party songs

Written by Anne Clendening
Anne Clendening was born and raised in L.A. She's a yoga teacher, a writer and occasionally slings cocktails in a Hollywood bar. She could eat chocolate cake for every meal of the day. She has a huge fear of heights and flying. And fire. She wishes she could speak French, play her guitar better and make cannoli. She's probably listening to The Dark Side Of The Moon right now, kickin’ it with her boxer dog and her hot Australian husband ★
