I’ve had a lot of good days in life, but today wins. Hard. I signed the contract today to write my first book. Lifelong dream, ever since I read The Great Gatsby when I was 15 years old.

It’s better than the day I saw The Police in 1983. It was the Synchronicity Tour. The Thompson Twins, The Fixx and Berlin opened for them. The movie “Risky Business” had just come out. We sat next to Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay and he put on my Ray-Bans. I was 16. Easily the best day of my young life.

Better than the day I moved into my first apartment on Balboa Island. (It was actually my second apartment, but the first one doesn’t count because I hated it.) It was on Agate. And it was rad.
