I wrote a book. It's not just about yoga.

I know there are more pressing issues in the world right now than this list. But at least I’m not bitching about the holidays.

30. “Two Can Play that Game” by Bobby Brown (1984). Not my fave Bobby Brown song, aand nowhere near as groovy as “Every Little Step.” But it’s party-tastic. Just don’t make me watch the video. I’ve seen this guy with his shirt off way too much in this life already.

29. “Superfreak” by Rick James (1981). Yessss. So rad. An awesomely dirty tune from a guy who once walked by me on the street right after the little incident where he tortured some poor girl with a crack pipe and it scared the shit outta me. It was like a brush with an insanely tall, 240 pound angry chunk of crack cocaine.

28. “Kiss” by Prince (1986). I can name about 20 Prince songs better than this one, including every single song from “Purple Rain” and “1999,” both of which I was obsessed with because I love me some Prince. But still a fun little diddy.

27. “Twist and Shout” by The Beatles (1963). It’s everything a party song should be. It’s happy and dance-y.

26. “Mr Brightside” by The Killers (2004). I heard this song every week for ten years at work bartending in Hollywood. I’ve heard it enough.

25. “Like a Prayer” by Madonna (1989). Love it, love the video, love the gospel thing. Love Madonna. Her first album is one of my top three album ever.

24. “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan (1995). I thought this was, like, Bel Biv Devoe. I don’t know about this one. I’m waiting for some Tag Team with “Whoomp, There it Is!”

23. “Groove Is in the Heart” by Deee-Lite (1990). Oh my gawd, I totally forgot about Deee-Lite. Good album. Annoying song. They have better ones, like “Good Beat.” But sometimes they remind me of that stupid early 90’s group who sang that song. You know the one. “Everybody dance now!” Bum, bum, bum bum bum, bum…

22. “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder. There is no such thing as a bad Stevie Wonder song. Funk on.

21. “Regulate” by Warren G and Nate Dogg. How is this a party song? I’m not so sure… and it’s nowhere near as good as the song it samples, Michael McDonald’s “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near).”
